Ayushman CAPF Hospital List: How to Check Empanelled Hospitals

The Ayushman CAPF hospital list is the directory of hospitals where Central Armed Police Force personnel and their dependants can receive cashless treatment. It is maintained on the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY platform, and the live version should be checked on the official portal rather than any third-party page. This guide explains who is covered, how to check the list correctly, and how cancer treatment fits into the scheme.

What Is the Ayushman CAPF Scheme?

Ayushman CAPF is a convergence scheme launched on 23 January 2021 by the Ministry of Home Affairs together with the National Health Authority. It runs on the same IT platform as Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and provides cashless, paperless treatment to serving personnel of the seven Central Armed Police Forces: Assam Rifles, BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, NSG and SSB. NDRF personnel were brought into the scheme in January 2024.

Beneficiaries carry an Ayushman CAPF card, issued through their own force or activated at an empanelled hospital. Claims are settled directly between the hospital and the government, so no payment is made at the counter for covered treatment.

Who Is Eligible

Serving personnel of the seven CAPFs, plus NDRF personnel

Dependants recorded in the force database: spouse, children and dependent parents

Your Force Headquarters is the custodian of the beneficiary database, so eligibility questions are resolved there rather than at the hospital.

How to Check the Ayushman CAPF Hospital List

The CAPF ayushman bharat hospital list changes as hospitals are added and removed, which is why a printed or copied list is unreliable. Check it this way:

Step 1: Go to the official Ayushman CAPF page on the PM-JAY portal at pmjay.gov.in.

Step 2: Open the hospital search and filter by your state, district and the speciality you need, for example oncology.

Step 3: Note which empanelment each hospital holds. This matters, and it is the step most people skip.

Step 4: Telephone the hospital scheme desk and confirm before you travel. Empanelment status can change between the portal update and your visit.

One nuance matters when reading any CAPF hospital list. Per the NHA beneficiary brochure, cashless OPD and IPD services run through CGHS-empanelled private hospitals, while cashless inpatient treatment is also available at PM-JAY-empanelled private hospitals. MHA guidelines dated 6 March 2023 removed the referral requirement for dependants at PM-JAY-empanelled hospitals. A hospital on a PM-JAY list is therefore not automatically the same as full CAPF cover, so ask which empanelment applies to your case.

What the Card Covers

Cover is provided against the scheme’s defined health benefit packages, covering secondary and tertiary hospitalisation, pre-existing conditions, critical illness, and pre and post-hospitalisation costs. Published sources differ on whether an annual per-family limit applies to CAPF beneficiaries, so confirm the current cover on the official portal. In an emergency, treatment starts first and authorisation follows.

Free Cancer Treatment for CAPF Families

No private hospital in India provides free cancer treatment on its own account. What exists is fully cashless treatment for eligible beneficiaries under government schemes, and cancer is among the specialities covered. For a CAPF family that means surgery, radiation, chemotherapy cycles and several diagnostics delivered without payment at the counter, provided the hospital holds the right empanelment and the package is approved in advance.

Cancer treatment runs across months rather than a single admission, so confirming cover before the first cycle matters more here than in most specialities. Check the ayushman CAPF hospital list for your state, then ask the hospital scheme desk to confirm three things in writing: which empanelment applies to you, which packages are approved for your diagnosis, and what is not covered.

Government Scheme Cancer Care at Onco-Life

Onco-Life Cancer Centre is a NABH-accredited oncology network in Maharashtra, empanelled under government health insurance schemes including MJPJAY (Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana), Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), CGHS and ECHS. You can check your eligibility before visiting, and our Arogya Mitra desk completes the paperwork.

Cancer services available include surgical oncology, radiation therapy in Pune, chemotherapy and daycare infusion, medical oncology and PET-CT imaging. Related guides cover the MJPJAY scheme, other government schemes for cancer patients, and free cancer treatment in Mumbai.

Using Your Card at the Hospital

Carry your Ayushman CAPF card, service ID and Aadhaar or another government photo ID

Report to the Ayushman Mitra or scheme helpdesk rather than the general billing counter

Eligibility is verified on the PM-JAY portal and pre-authorisation is raised for planned treatment

If an empanelled hospital refuses cashless treatment, this can be raised through the scheme grievance system

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Ayushman CAPF Hospital List: How to Check Empanelled Hospitals

Is The Ayushman CAPF Hospital List The Same As The PM-JAY List?

Not exactly. CAPF cover runs through CGHS-empanelled and PM-JAY-empanelled hospitals under different rules. Confirm with the hospital which empanelment applies to you.

Do I Need A Referral For Treatment At A Private CAPF Hospital?

For dependants at PM-JAY-empanelled hospitals, referral was removed by MHA guidelines dated 6 March 2023. In emergencies, referral is not required at all.

How Do I Get An Ayushman CAPF Card?

Through your own force, or from a Pradhan Mantri Aarogya Mitra at an empanelled hospital, using your service ID and a government photo ID.

Can I Use The Card Outside My Home State?

Yes. The scheme is portable across India, so you can be treated at any empanelled hospital regardless of where you are posted.

What If My Treatment Package Is Not Approved?

Ask the scheme desk for the reason in writing. You can appeal, use another applicable scheme, or raise a grievance through the PM-JAY platform.

Does The Scheme Cover Cancer Follow-Up Visits?

Pre and post-hospitalisation costs are covered under defined packages. Routine follow-up cover varies, so confirm with the hospital scheme desk each time.
