Awareness Campaign in Educational Institutes, 2016

In 2016, a visionary project aimed at early cancer awareness and preventive health education was conceptualized and flawlessly executed by Mr. Sachin Deshmukh, whose unwavering commitment to public health and grassroots outreach set a new benchmark in community engagement. Recognizing the need to instill awareness from a young age, Mr. Deshmukh spearheaded a campaign that reached deep into the educational fabric of Satara and neighbouring districts.

This three-month initiative strategically targeted schools and colleges—both medical and non-medical—customizing awareness content according to the age group and level of understanding of the students. The sessions were engaging, interactive, and sensitively designed to address the myths, early signs, and lifestyle risk factors associated with cancer. The campaign successfully reached over 10,000 students across more than 15 schools and 10 colleges, creating a strong ripple effect of knowledge and awareness among youth and their families.

Mr. Sachin Deshmukh’s leadership, passion, and hands-on involvement in this campaign were instrumental in its resounding success. His ability to connect with diverse age groups, simplify complex medical information, and mobilize institutional support transformed this awareness campaign into one of the most impactful educational health drives in the region.

In addition to this, Onco-Life Cancer Centre, under his guidance, continues to organize numerous free medical camps every week, reaching underserved communities, offering screenings, and spreading cancer awareness, thereby reaffirming its role as a pillar of preventive healthcare in rural Maharashtra.

Held over 8 days within the premises of Onco-Life Cancer Centre, the camp was exclusively designed for women and focused on breast and cervical cancer screening, which continue to be among the leading causes of cancer-related mortality in Indian women. A total of 486 women from Satara and surrounding areas availed the opportunity to undergo screening completely free of cost, removing the financial barrier that often delays or prevents early diagnosis.

comprehensive diagnostic services included Preliminary Clinical Examination, Mammography, and Pap Smear tests, all conducted by expert medical professionals.
