Cancer Ignorance

A 38 years old female came to our hospital with a lump of 34×29 mm in her right breast having stage II. Our Doctor advised cancer surgery but the patient decided to take alternative treatment. Patient couldn’t understand the seriousness of the disease but after 7 months, when she came back to the hospital with severe pain, swelling & tenderness in her right breast. Cancer surgeons recommended a repeat PET-CT Scan.

On PET-CT scan,this time the size of tumor was 136 x85 mm & her disease progressed to stage III.

So in diseases like cancer, every patient has to follow the recommended guidelines by the consultants otherwise disease can progress to an advanced stage whereby an easily operable case can become an inoperable case & shorten the patient’s life.
